E-Classes project bring a new form of learning, providing education and training with open educational resources (OER). Exploiting the ICT potential, teachers are helped to modify their teaching methodologies and adapt their teaching contents in a more complete, holistic, attractive, motivational, simple and economic way.
The project aim at making good use of a recent method named flipped learning. This method is based on the transformation of traditional classes in Creative Classrooms’ (CCR), namely in innovative learning environments that fully embed the potential of ICT to innovate learning and teaching practices in formal, non-formal and informal sceneries to create OER. At the core of this concept is the notion of flipping or reversing traditional way of teaching/learning in schools.
The innovation of the E-Classes is to change the traditional e-learning in which different skilled people support the teachers for the use of technological tools and contents’ elaborations. E-Classes will make the teachers aware of the fact that ICT tools can be directly used by the trainers. These conditions make possible that the contents are always updated with user-friendly technologies, easy to use and economical. E-Classes do not just promote the methodology, but also train, create educational resources/example lessons, test and develop together with students-teachers using open virtual educational platforms.
The E-Classes main outcomes are:
IO1 – Guideline on Flipped classroom methodology and how to create and use it at class for science and technological disciplines and transdisciplinary areas and Open-Online Course on Flipped classes methodology for VET teachers
This IO will involve the collaboration of the partners staff members (teachers, trainers, experts in development of teaching methodologies and resources)
It will involve 3 types of activities:
– Development of the online course and contents, involving the partners staff members (teachers, trainers, experts in development of teaching methodologies and resources, including online platforms)
– Pilot of the online course, involving the partners staff members (teachers, trainers, experts in development of teaching methodologies and resources, including online platforms)
– Training for VET teachers on how to create flipped classes, at national level
IO3 – Flipped classes multimedia lessons
This IO will involve 3 types of activities:
– Setting up common science and technological disciplines in the partners’ countries: Each partner country will set up a working group of teachers (from the ones trained within the project) who will act as a network of promoters and creators of Flipped classes multimedia lessons for science and technological disciplines – at least 10 teachers per country
– Production of flipped classes multimedia lessons
– Creation of flipped lessons on trans-disciplinary disciplines
IO4 – Videos on job orientation and integration students-schools-companies cooperation and Virtual E-Classes Learning Environment
This IO will involve 3 types of activities:
– Setting up network of companies to support youth job integration
– Cooperation students-companies and creation of 12 videos per country in companies
– Working in the classroom using the videos as transversal theme within the school subjects taught (“I Am Welcomed, Therefore, I Belong” E-Classes sessions). Each partner country will organise debate lessons between students and teachers using the E-Classes videos created on the practice in companies, orientation and integration
